How To

STEP 1

Preliminary Skin Test

Apply a small amount of test mixture to sensitive skin and allow the area to dry completely. After 48 hours, wash the area. If any abnormal reactions occur, do not proceed with the hair coloring process.

STEP 2

Color Preview Test

To preview your new color, snip a small swatch of hair (¼ inch). Apply the test mixture, making sure that each hair strand is completely covered. After 25 minutes, rinse thoroughly and dry to see results.

STEP 3

Mix Color

Snip off the tip of the Cream Color Developer applicator. Pour all of the Ammonia-Free Colorant into the Cream Color Developer bottle.

STEP 4

Blend Mixture

Replace applicator cap. With your finger over the open tip, shake bottle vigorously until mixture is completely blended.

STEP 5

Apply Hair Color, Full Head Application

Part hair into sections, securing each with a clip. Using the applicator tip, make ¼ inch partings throughout the section and apply the mixer to the root area. Repeat on remaining sections. Comb or gently work remaining mixture through remainder of the hair, saturating strands completely through to the tip. Leave on hair for 25 minutes total. For resistant gray hair, leave on for an additional 5 minutes.

STEP 5

Apply Hair Color, Touch-Up Application

Part hair into sections, securing each with a clip. Using the applicator tip, make ¼ inch partings throughout the section and apply the mixer to the root area only. Repeat on remaining sections. Leave on hair for 20 minutes total. For resistant gray hair, leave on for an additional 5 minutes.

STEP 6

Rinse

With gloves, add a little warm water to your hair and gently massage color mixture through hair. Rinse hair thoroughly with warm water until the water runs clear.

STEP 7

Condition

Apply Mango & Shea Butter Ultra-Moisturizing Conditioner to hair and gently massage to thoroughly saturate. Leave in for 2 minutes, then rinse and style as usual.

WARNING

Hair colorants can cause severe allergic reactions. Read and follow instructions. This product is not intended for use on persons under the age of 16. Temporary "black henna" tattoos may increase your risk of allergy. Do not color your hair if:

You have a rash on your face or sensitive, irritated and damaged scalp
You have ever experienced any reaction after coloring your hair
You have experienced a reaction to a temporary "black henna" tattoo in the past.

Wait at least 14 days after relaxing, bleaching or perming before coloring. Mix and apply the product in well ventilated areas. Do not use on children.

CAUTION

This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. Colorant contains p-phenylenediamine and resorcinol. Developer contains hydrogen peroxide. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness. A skin allergy test must be completed 48 hours before you use this product, even if you have used coloring products before. Before using, read insert for complete directions. Avoid contact with eyes. Rinse eyes immediately if product comes into contact with them. Wear suitable gloves. Rinse hair well after application. Keep out of reach of children. Mixing ratio (1:1). Store unopened kit in a cool, dry place until ready to use (do not refrigerate).

Style Tips

BEFORE COLORING

Do not use if your hair is not in good condition
Do not shampoo hair immediately before coloring
Apply product to clean, dry hair
To prevent skin staining, apply petroleum jelly around hairline and nape of neck
Follow the included instructions carefully

DURING COLORING

Part hair into sections and clip each one to keep hair separated
Never leave the cap on the Cream Color Developer bottle after mixing, contents may burst
Follow the recommended processing times for best results
For resistant gray coverage, allow color to process an additional 5 minutes
Remove any color staining with a damp towel dipped in shampoo

AFTER COLORING

To deep condition with the Mango & Shea Butter Ultra-Moisturizing Conditioner, cover hair with a plastic cap after applying, and let the product sit for 15 minutes
To maintain well-moisturized hair between color treatments, use the Mango & Shea Butter Ultra-Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner daily
