How To

STEP 1

Preparation

For maximum results and vibrant color, pre-lighten hair before applying Vivid Shades. Color is not recommended for dark hair, as results may not be visible.

Preliminary Skin Test

Apply a small amount of test mixture to sensitive skin and allow the area to dry completely. After 48 hours, wash the area. If any abnormal reactions occur, do not proceed with the hair coloring process.

STEP 3

Color Preview Test

To preview your new color, snip a small swatch of hair (¼ inch). Apply the test mixture, making sure that each hair strand is completely covered. After 25 minutes (Natural Shades) or 15 minutes (Vivid Shades), rinse thoroughly and dry to see results. Color results may vary depending on original hair color and texture.

STEP 4

Shampoo

Shampoo hair with Moisturizing Dry Defense Shampoo, then towel dry hair and squeeze out any excess water.

Apply Hair Color

Part hair into sections, then apply product from the tube with gloves. Spread with comb or fingers through each section, avoiding direct contact with the scalp. Be sure to fully saturate hair with the product. Do not mix with peroxide.

Set Timer

Cover hair with a plastic cap and process at room temperature or with heat for 15 Minutes (Vivid Shades) or 25 minutes (Natural Shades).

Rinse

Rinse hair thoroughly with warm water until the water runs clear.

Condition

For increased moisture and softness, condition hair for 5 minutes using Moisturizing Dry Defense Conditioner. Rinse and style as usual.

"We bleached my son’s black hair and then dyed it blue using another brand before locking it up. After a few months the color started running out so his hair was looking greenish, dry and washed out. We applied the cream of nature color boost and it became this beautiful blue. Even better than the first blue. It has only been a day but he is VERY satisfied with how his hair is looking now. "Followed instructions perfectly, step by step. Guess what?! Made the hair soft but the only thing that is now blue is my bathtub. Very disappointing!! I mean, not even a blue reflection in the sun. Zero! Waste of money and will never buy it again! My son was really hoping to get some blue on his hair to be “cool” and he just had a life lesson that not everything you buy actually works!"

I must say this

"I must say this dye is likely the strangest hair product I have encountered, but in an oddly good way. I applied an entire bottle to all my hair after getting sections professionally bleached. Surprisingly, it did not leave a hint of color on my regular dirty blond hair, but all the sections that had been bleached became extremely vibrant blue. It has now been about six months and the sections of my hair are still primarily blue, and even the faded sections have turned a pretty shade of turquoise, not the ugly green I have gotten from other box dyes. I'm unsure why it didn't leave any color on my non-bleached hair, but regardless, I was thrilled with the result and would definitely recommend. . . . just make sure to bleach your hair first I guess?"
