How To

STEP 1

Preparation

For maximum results and vibrant color, pre-lighten hair before applying Vivid Shades. Color is not recommended for dark hair, as results may not be visible.

Preliminary Skin Test

Apply a small amount of test mixture to sensitive skin and allow the area to dry completely. After 48 hours, wash the area. If any abnormal reactions occur, do not proceed with the hair coloring process.

STEP 3

Color Preview Test

To preview your new color, snip a small swatch of hair (¼ inch). Apply the test mixture, making sure that each hair strand is completely covered. After 25 minutes (Natural Shades) or 15 minutes (Vivid Shades), rinse thoroughly and dry to see results. Color results may vary depending on original hair color and texture.

STEP 4

Shampoo

Shampoo hair with Moisturizing Dry Defense Shampoo, then towel dry hair and squeeze out any excess water.

Apply Hair Color

Part hair into sections, then apply product from the tube with gloves. Spread with comb or fingers through each section, avoiding direct contact with the scalp. Be sure to fully saturate hair with the product. Do not mix with peroxide.

Set Timer

Cover hair with a plastic cap and process at room temperature or with heat for 15 Minutes (Vivid Shades) or 25 minutes (Natural Shades).

Rinse

Rinse hair thoroughly with warm water until the water runs clear.

Condition

For increased moisture and softness, condition hair for 5 minutes using Moisturizing Dry Defense Conditioner. Rinse and style as usual.

My purple had faded a bit and I couldn’t get an appointment at the salon so I grabbed this color on sale. It was very easy to apply and almost a conditioner like texture. I left on under a plastic bag for like 30 minutes and rinsed and the color is amazing! I’ve read it could be similar to blue and I do see that a bit but it’s a very dark purple/blue on my hair. Def pre lighten your hair as this won’t show up on dark hair."

One thing I would prefer is a twist off cap instead of the flip top cap, which kind of got in my way during application.
